LOW-FLYING PLANE CAUSES CALHOUN JITTERS - First Day Of Rabies Pellet Drop

(09/12/2001)
It was a disturbing start for West Virginia's rabies vaccination drop, which covers nearly all of Calhoun and several regional counties.

The low flying Canadian aircraft came over the county yesterday in a sweep from the Ohio River to Boone County - in the midst of the terrorist attack on America.

Local residents spotted the plane, which had nearly completed the daily drop and had been ordered to fly to the nearest airport. In this case, it was Yeager in Charleston.

Yeager Airport said air traffic is expected to resume today, unless otherwise notified.
