WAL-MART DOG FOOD RECALL

(06/07/2007)
A Virginia company is recalling 55-lb. bags of Ol'Roy Complete Nutrition dry dog food sold at 69 Wal-Mart stores in West Virginia and five other states.

Doane Pet Care of Manassas, Virginia says it may be contaminated with salmonella.

The company says consumers should check for a specific code number --zero-four-zero-seven-three-five-one (04 0735 1) and an April 13th, 2008, freshness date.

Doane says no illnesses have been reported.

Company officials said there's no connection to the recent national pet food recall linked to an industrial chemical put in pet food by China.

That pet food, widely sold in the US, contained tainted Chinese vegetable proteins.
