KNIGHT NEW GRANTSVILLE MAYOR - Two Incumbents Return To Council

Grantsville voters elected a new mayor yesterday.

Former mayor Gary Knight defeated incumbent Wilbert Kerby, 85 to 43 votes.

Write-in candidate Helen Johnson received 98 votes, to Jane Wease's 13 votes and Suzanne Fox's 11 votes for Town Recorder.

Voters returned two incumbents to the five-member council, Loretta Stevens, 78 votes, and Charlie Whipkey, 67 votes.

The three new council members are Theresa Cain, 72; Katheryn Kerby, 61; and Helen Jordan, 61.
