Hettie O. Knopp, 93 - Reedy

Hettie O. Knopp, 93, of Reedy, died Saturday, May 19, 2007, in Eldercare of West Virginia, Ripley.

She was born April 12, 1913, at Gay, Roane County, a daughter of the late Elmer E. and Icy Hinzman Knopp. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Waitman Knopp and Olen Knopp; four sisters, Mardelle Knopp Stewart, Wilda Knopp Keffer, Evelyn Knopp Rhodes and Eulah Knopp Weadock.

Hettie worked many years for the American Viscose Plant, Parkersburg. During the years of World War II, she worked at the FMC Defense Plant, South Charleston. She had worked as an LPN in private care in and out of our state. Finally, she retired from the Spencer Hospital to her farm in Roane County.

Survivors include three first cousins, Charles Knopp of Leroy, Joann Knopp Conley of Charleston, and Elladean Knopp Carder of Redman, OH; 14 nieces and nephews.

At her request, there will be no funeral service. Her body has been cremated and there will be a private service at a later date.
