MINIMUM WAGE GOING UP

The federal minimum wage is going up.

The largest growing number of employed workers are in the service sector.

They will benefit the most from the wage increase.

Within the next two years, minimum wage will go from $5.15 an hour to $7.25.

Most minimum wage workers are younger than 25 and most work part-time, according to nation-wide statistics.

Food preparation and service jobs make up most of the minimum wage workforce.

West Virginia and Oklahoma have the highest percentage of hourly workers earning minimum wage.
