ROBEY CELEBRATES 100 YEARS OF MOVIE GOING - "Gone With The Wind" Scheduled For 5 Cents

(06/01/2007)
Spencer's Robey Theater is 100 years old.

The local landmark is on the National Historic Register, and is likely the longest operating movie house in America.

The Robey's neon sign was recently restored for the event.

Part of the celebration will be the showing of "Gone With the Wind" with customers only paying a nickel admission, the price to see movies when the theater first opened.

The film is being shown Saturday and Sunday at 1 p.m.
