Sara Kay Bailes Hughes, 63 - Spencer

Sara Kay Bailes Hughes, 63, of Spencer, W.Va., died May 24, 2007, at the Roane General Hospital, Spencer.

She was born Nov. 4, 1943, in Greenbrier County, W.Va., a daughter of the late George Bailes and Rebecca McMallin Bailes Starcher. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Lonnie Hughes; children, Donna Kay Workman, Donald Lee Carpenter and Danielle Marie Webb, all of Spencer; stepchildren, Stephon Leon Hughes of Aurora, W.Va., and Stephanie Michelle Morgan of Clarksburg, W.Va.; one sister, Ramona May of Spencer; one brother, James R. Bailes of Florida; grandchildren, James "Jay" Dale Workman, Amanda Kay Workman and Chris Edward "CJ" Webb Jr.; stepgrandchildren, Amber Dawn Hughes, Jenna Lynn Hughes, Dawn Marie Tolley and Chad Allen Payne; and great-grandchildren, Damion Dakota James Workman, Jordan Jamal Workman and Abbigail Amore Marie Workman.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, William Jennings Starcher.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Jackie Roberts officiating. Burial will be in the Egypt Chapel Cemetery, Spencer. Visiting hours are from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
