CALHOUN GRAND JURY INDICTS FOUR

(05/09/2007)
A Calhoun Grand Jury issued four indictments yesterday.

- Matthew Clay Bell, 22, of Creston, three counts of daytime burglary and three counts, willfully setting fire on lands

- Gary Paul Ferrell, 49, of Big Bend, one count, possession of a firearm, and two counts, wanton endangerment involving a firearm

- Sarah Cain, 29, of Orma, one count of welfare fraud

- Ronald J. Gordon, 57, of Orma, indicted on nine counts:

* Four counts of sexual abuse in the first degree

* Two counts of sexual assault in the second degree

* One count of sexual abuse in the second degree

* One count of attempt to commit sexual assault in the second degree

* One count of nighttime burglary

An indictment is not an indication of guilt; rather, it means a grand jury has found sufficient evidence to warrant a trial.
