State Director Robert M. Steptoe, III,
announced yesterday that Rural Development approved a Water and Waste
Disposal Loan of $450,000 and Grant of $325,800 for the Town of
Harrisville, Ritchie County.
The Town of Harrisville's existing wastewater treatment is located along
Back Run on a relatively small site with little room for expansion.
The
plant utilizes the oxidation ditch system to provide secondary treatment
of the wastewater.
Rural Development funds will be used for the installation of a sludge
belt press.
This is necessary in order to construct these facilities
within the existing wastewater treatment plant site and reuse the
existing sludge drying building for mechanical equipment.
