Three Calhoun High School Junior's, Hayli McKinstry, Melissa Jarvis and Briana Blankenship have been selected to attend the Governor's Honors Academy held on the Fairmont State University campus in July.

One hundred-sixty-five top achieving students from West Virginia schools are selected to attend the academy each year. Students have to qualify in a number of areas.

The mission of the academy is to operate an academically rich environment designed to honor high ability and high achieving students at an institution of higher education, challenging students to grow intellectually and creatively in a culturally diverse atmosphere.
