Emogene "Jean" Boggs - Akron, Ohio

(04/17/2007)
Emogene "Jean" Boggs, born October 27, 1927, went home to be with the Lord on April 14, 2007.

Emogene was born in Stumptown, West Virginia and later moved to Akron after her marriage to Eugene Boggs. She was a loving wife, a wonderful mother to her three children, and a much-loved "Nanny" to her 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed.

Jean, a member of The Chapel, was a woman of deep faith, devoting her life to serving others. She taught Sunday school for over 20 years and was a strong supporter of missions.

Jean was preceded in death by Gene, her husband of 52 years; parents, Garland and Alta Stump; and brother, Roxel Stump. She is survived by her daughters, Sharon (Tom) Dykstra of Byron, Michigan, and Pam (Bill) Thompson of Tallmadge, Ohio; her son, Don (Diane) Boggs of Clinton, Ohio; her sisters, Susan Nutter, and Marge Gherke of Grantsville, WV; and her brother, Mike Stump of Parkersburg, WV.

A memorial service will be held at noon on Thursday, April 19 at the Bacher Funeral Home, 3250 Greenwich Rd., Norton, Ohio, where the family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Pastor Steve Bucy will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Chapel's Missions: The Chapel, 135 Fir Hill, Akron, Ohio 44304. The family would like to thank the staff of Kent Ridge at Golden Pond for their loving care they provided Jean.

Funeral home map, directions, and the Barkey Family condolence book are available online at www.bacherfuneralhome.com
