NUDE MAN DISCOVERED STABBED - A man walked into the Division of Highway's on Mud Lick Road in Lewis County after he was beaten and stabbed.

Police say 30-year-old Jamie Riffle of Morgantown was naked and had been viciously stabbed, after being threatened with a gun and had been tied up with rope and duct tape.

Riffle was taken to Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital and then to Ruby Memorial Hospital.

The Lewis County Sheriff's Department and Task Force Investigators arrested and charged 21-year-old Stanley Toland III with malicious or unlawful assault.

After being approached by authorities at his house, Toland attempted suicide and tried to destroy physical evidence that could link him to the crime.

Police discovered weapons and clothes linked to the crime.

Toland is being held in Central Regional Jail.

ANOTHER DRUG STORE ROBBERY - A man walked into a Rite-Aid pharmacy at Big Chimney and ran out with stolen drugs.

Police released a description of the suspect they believe robbed the drug store.

They say the suspect is 5 foot 10 and was last seen wearing a black jacket and toboggan.

Employees say after he took the drugs he got away in a green car.

After he left, employees locked the doors and called police.

Armed hold-ups are becoming a frequent occurrence with drug-seekers.
