SSJ CHARITABLE FUND ANNOUNCE 10TH ANNIVERSARY EVENTS

(04/11/2007)
Parkersburg, WV -- During the month of April, the Sisters of St. Joseph Charitable Fund will be celebrating its 10th Anniversary by hosting four celebrations in various areas of the Mid-Ohio Valley. Since 1996, the SSJ Charitable Fund has awarded nearly 500 grants to 288 area non-profit agencies, representing approximately $9 million.

As the Fund looks forward to comparable contributions in the future, the celebrations will be a venue for participants to learn more about the origin and mission of the SSJ Charitable Fund, the activities of the SSJCF, as well as and grants funded in the MOV counties during these ten years. In turn, the SSJ Charitable Fund board and staff will listen and learn from participants as they share their awareness and experiences relative to pressing health and wellness needs in their communities.

The celebration will conclude with light refreshments and sharing in an Anniversary cake. Each program will begin at 4:30 p.m. and conclude by 6:00 p.m. Sites for the Anniversary Celebration are set in four regions of the SSJCF service area. Dates and locations are as follows:

Athens, Meigs, and Washington Counties in Ohio will be on Tuesday, April 17, 2007 at St. Ambrose Church Hall in Little Hocking, OH; Pleasants, Ritchie, and Tyler Counties will be on Thursday, April 19 at the Board of Education meeting room in St. Marys, WV; Wirt and Wood County will be on Tuesday, April 24, 2007 in the Community Room at West Virginia University at Parkersburg; and, Calhoun, Jackson, and Roane Counties will be on Thursday, April 26, 2007 at the Roane County Committee on Aging building in Spencer, WV.
