CHARLEY McCUMBERS - Nicut

Charley McCumbers, 76, of Nicut, Calhoun County, died Aug. 31, 2001, at Roane General Hospital of Spencer.

Born at Mount Run, he was a son of the late William Riley and Sarah Katherine Bishop McCumbers. He was retired from Norris Industries of Spencer and was a member of the Beech Grove Baptist Church of Nicut.

Surviving is one daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Stanley Wilson of Big Springs; son, Jackie McCumbers of Nicut; two sisters, Goldie Talkington of Vienna, and Chessie Talkington of Newton Falls, Ohio; five grandsons, Walter and Warren Wilson and Russell, Joshua and Charles McCumbers; and one granddaughter, Rebecca McCumbers.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie McCumbers; daughter, Teresa McCumbers; son, Jim McCumbers; four brothers; and four sisters.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Beech Grove Baptist Church of Nicut. Elder Charles Fisher and Elder Richard Westfall will officiate. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Sunday at the Stump Funeral Home of Arnoldsburg.
