A Calhoun man was life-flighted by HealthNet to Charleston Area Medical Center yesterday afternoon at 3 p.m.

His vehicle went out of control on Rt. 16 and plunged into the West Fork between Orma and Minnora.

Josh Robertson, in his late 20s, received lacerations and at least one compound fracture.

The Upper West Fork VFD and Calhoun EMS had to extract the victim from the vehicle, which came to rest in waist-deep water.

Rescuers then had to carry Robertson upstream to load him in an ambulance.

He was then taken to Arnoldsburg Community Park to meet the chopper.
