STABBING - A Cross Lanes teen is in the hospital after being stabbed in the face. Police have arrested James Walker and are looking for Samuel Manrequez. The incident happened early today following an argument. The injuries described as not severe.

BRANDISHING - A Morgantown man is in trouble after allegedly pulling out an air gun in public. Jared Wesley Hawkins, 20, is charged with brandishing a deadly weapon, disorderly conduct, and having an air pistol.

Police said Hawkins allegedly pointed a gun at a man's face near High Street in Morgantown. When they arrived, they found the air pistol in Hawkins' pants.

STAND-OFF - A Harrison County man is in jail following an early morning stand-off with police. Daniel Demarino is charged with wanton endangerment involving a firearm.

Police say Demarino pointed a rifle at officers earlier this week. He was apprehended and taken to United Hospital Center for evaluation, then to the North Central Regional Regional Jail.

Police say Demarino was found in the home with "some weapons." When they confronted him a brief stand-off ensued. No shots were fired and no one was injured.

ENDANGERMENT - Fairmont police are investigating a shots fired incident outside the Bel-Mont Motel on Route 19 Sunday night.

They say 39-year-old Paul Hoskins fired off several rounds with a 22-long rifle.

No injuries were reported.

Hoskins was arrested and now faces a charge of endangerment with a firearm. He's in the North Central Regional Jail.

FAIRMONT ARMED ROBBERIES - police are investigating two early-morning armed robberies in Fairmont, not connected.

One happened early Sunday morning outside the Burger King on Fairmont Avenue. A man was sitting in his car when two masked men demanded money.

He said one man had a gun and the other had a knife.

The second robbery happened about 2:30 a.m. on Locust Avenue. A man wielding a weapon stole a wallet from two other men .

NABBED — Huntington Police arrested two men in connection with a recent armed robbery.

Matthew Scott Curtis, 19, and Dustin Kyle Clark, 18, were incarcerated at 3:15 a.m. Monday.

Curtis was charged with felony first-degree robbery and Clark was charged with felony first-degree robbery and misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance.

Both men are being detained without bond.

SCHOOL GUN SCARE - A gun scare prompted an emergency lockdown of two McDowell County schools Friday.

After several students overhead the word "gun" in a conversation between two other students, an emergency plan was implemented and both Mount View High School and Mount View Middle School were placed under a lockdown.

Officers with the McDowell County Sheriff's Department, the West Virginia State Police, and the Welch Police Department searched both schools, but were unable to find a weapon.

The release of students from the high school and middle school was delayed by about 30 minutes as officials searched the school.

The principal said proper procedures were followed, but it was a misunderstanding of an innocent sentence.
