Retha M. "Peggy" Rogers Bancroft, 87 - Shock

Retha M. "Peggy" Rogers Bancroft, 87, departed this life to be with the Lord on March 21, 2007, at 7:14 a.m. at United Hospital Center, Clarksburg, West Virginia.

She was the daughter of the late Okey and Cleo Rogers of Shock, WV.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Ray and Ralph Rogers; one sister, Ruth Manz; one child, and infant son, and one grandson.

She is survived by three brothers, Richard Rogers of Martin TN, Randolph Rogers of Dandridge TN, and Rexie Rogers of Tampa, FL.

She was the mother of three remaining children, Diana Miller of Shock WV Raymond Charles Bancroft, Jr. of York PA, and Edna Marie Frymier of Newberne, WV. Also surviving are one daughter-in-law; two sons-in-law; 6 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren; as well as many step grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was a faithful and active member of the Church of Christ and loved people. Her love of playing mountain, folk, and country music throughout the years brought many friends into her life. Also her 20 years of service to her clients in the Senior Companion Program brought her much joy. She was an asset to every community in which she lived, and was a loving and devoted mother. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 24 at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg, WV. Evangelist Vernon Kerns will officiate. Interment will be in the Miller Cemetery at Shock.

Friends may call at the funeral home home from 11:30 a.m. Saturday until the time of services.
