ATLANTA, Ga. - The Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA), in cooperation with Eastman Kodak Company, announced the finalists for the 2007 Kodak/WBCA All-America Basketball Team for the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II.

The 35 finalists, who are voted upon by WBCA member coaches in each of the eight WBCA geographical regions, are now in the running for selection to the 10-member Kodak/WBCA All-America Team.

Lady Pioneers standouts, senior guard Rachel Redick, and senior center Casey Taylor are two of the five finalists being considered in Region 2. Other Region 2 players nominated are: Lena Kalvans, senior forward, West Liberty; Deidra Langston, senior forward, Anderson University; and Jeannie Saunders, junior guard, Salem International University.

Redick, a three-time All-American, has garnered many awards during her final season at Glenville. Among these include being the all-time leading female scorer in WVIAC women's basketball history, WVIAC Player of the Year, WVIAC Women's Basketball Championship Most Valuable Player, and WVIAC All Tournament Team, and for a second time was presented with the tournament's Heart and Hustle award.

She was also named Daktronics Women's Basketball East Region Division II Player of the Year and selected to the NCAA First Team All Region Squad.

And for her efforts at leading the Lady Pioneers to the NCAA East Region, Division II Championship was named MVP of the tournament and selected to the NCAA East Region, Division II All Tournament Team.

Casey Taylor has had an especially strong second half of the season for the Lady Pioneers. She is a consistent performer who unlike most taller players has a very high shooting percentage from virtually anywhere on the court. Taylor was named to the WVIAC All Tournament Team and the NCAA East Region, Division II Women's Basketball Championship All Tournament Team.

WBCA CEO Beth Bass will announce the Kodak/WBCA All-America Basketball Team at the NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Banquet on Tuesday, March 20, 2007, at the Nebraskan Student Union in Kearney, Nebraska.

Founded in 1981, the WBCA promotes women's basketball by unifying coaches at all levels to develop a reputable identity for the sport and to foster and promote the development of the game in all of its aspects as a sport for women and girls.
