RIPLEY'S NEW WAL-MART WILL COMPETE WITH SPENCER STORE

Ripley's new mega-Wal-Mart has opened. The super-center is expected to bring competition with the Wal-Mart store in Spencer, since it carries more items, often at less cost. Wal-Mart's first Ripley store opened in 1990. "Right now we are up to 400 employees, that's an additional 166 jobs we have created from the move from the old store to the new store," said store manager Tracy Carpenter.
