DRIVER EXTRACTED FROM TWO-CAR COLLISION AT RITCHIE-CALHOUN LINE

The male driver of a Geo car had to be extracted from a two-vehicle collision on Campbell Hill near the Calhoun-Ritchie line early yesterday morning.

Smithville Volunteer Fire Department member Claude Frymier said the accident happened about half-way down Campbell Hill, the Geo collided with a Mitsubishi, the two occupants of that vehicle were apparently uninjured.

The man was taken by Ritchie EMS to St. Joseph's Hospital.

The accident happened in an area that is known to freeze, causing slick road conditions.

The Smithville VFD responded at 6 a.m. to the accident.
