Calhoun came oh-so-close to breaking into the win column Thursday night but in the end Wahama scored six points in the last 47 seconds, including a three-point goal with 0:00 left on the clock to beat the Red Devils, 60-57.

Calhoun led the game all the way before allowing the White Falcons to tie the score 57-57 on a three-point goal by Brenton Clark with :47 to play.

The Red Devils turned the ball over on a foul with :14 remaining. Wahama then won the game on an extremely long three-point shot by Jordan Smith as time expired.

Calhoun played its best game of the season and was on top all the way. The Red Devils jumped out to a 16-12 first quarter lead and pushed it out to six, 31-25, at halftime.

Wahama chipped away at the lead in the third quarter as fouls began to take their toll on the Red Devils. But Calhoun did enough to be ahead 44-41 going into the stretch run.

The Red Devils managed to hold on until the last minute of the game. Then came the heartbreak.

Zach Moore led the 0-21 Red Devils with 23 points and 15 rebounds before fouling out late in the fourth quarter.

Josh DeWeese continued his outstanding play down the stretch as he poured in 12 points and added 10 rebounds. But his most impressive statistics probably were his five assists and three steals.

Andrew Norman played another outstanding game with nine points; six assists rebounds and five assists.

Lucas Morford played perhaps his best game of the season had seven points, two steals and a blocked shot.

Justin Gerwig added six points while Harold McCumbers played but did not score.

Clark led Wahama with 17. Casey Harrison added 14 while Keith Pearson had 10 for the 15-6 White Falcons.

Calhoun will go after its first win of the season at 7:00 tonight when it entertains Doddridge in a makeup game.

It will be Senior Night for the Red Devils.
