About 600 pounds of "ox" came out of the pit yesterday to be served to community residents and lots of returnee's at the 42nd Annual Mt. Zion Community Ox Roast.

Oxmaster David Weaver said he had some good help with the preparation of the meat this year and lots of volunteers came out to assist with the event.

Most of the day was spent enjoying roast beef sandwiches or full meals, in addition to entertainment and lots of visiting.

The event is an annual fundraiser for the Mt. Zion Community Park.
