PUBLIC MEETING REGARDING WIRT-PLEASANTS STATE POLICE CHANGE

Wirt and Pleasants County residents are upset about the West Virginia State Police stationing their troopers in Wood County.

Senator Donna Boley has scheduled a public meeting for 10 a.m. Saturday, February 24th at the Pleasants County Library in St. Marys.

Boley says the topic of the meeting will be the recent changes by the WV State Police detachment in Parkersburg regarding Trooper postings for Wirt and Pleasants Counties.

State Police have pulled six troopers from Wirt and Pleasants Counties to cover Wood County, although they say the county offices will be left open and officers will respond from Wood County.

Senator Boley is urging all interested parties from both Pleasants and Wirt County to attend the meeting.

The Pleasants County Library is located at 101 Lafayette St. in St. Marys.

If coming into St. Marys on Rt. 2 N, turn left at Go-Mart - continue until you have almost reached the river, the library building is on the right.
