Iva Irene Johnson - Bridgeport formerly of Grantsville

Iva Irene Johnson of Bridgeport, West Virginia, passed away following a brief illness Sunday morning, February 18, 2007 at United Hospital Center, Clarksburg, West Virginia.

Mrs. Johnson was born September 21, 1910 at Douglas on the West Fork in Calhoun County, West Virginia. She was the daughter of the late C. Amos and Anna Lamb Jarvis, she was the youngest of 6 children. She was a resident of Grantsville, WV until 1990, when she moved to the home of her daughter, Marie Cooper in Bridgeport.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Clyde Johnson and by her son, Robert.

She is survived by her son, Cecil Johnson of Vincent, Ohio; two daughters, Marie Cooper of Bridgeport, and Donna Baker of Gassaway, WV; 12 grandchildren, and 23 great grandchildren.

Iva was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening. She was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed baseball and wrestling.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 21 at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville. Rev. Carroll McCauley will officiate. Interment will be in the Bethlehem Cemetery, Grantsville.

Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the services.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the charity of the givers choice.
