Opinion and Comment: Bob Weaver
With an estimated 13 million illegal aliens in the US, It seems deceitful for government to promote homeland security.
Whether they are friend or foe, they are simply deemed "illegal" regardless of their reasons for being here.
They get here with the government's blessing, patronizing American corporations who hire them at less than minimum wage, while at the same time doing a cat-and-mouse game to catch them.
Most American's got here through a legal process.
The illegal workers are certainly part of a war that has been waged on the American middle class.
The culprit here is not the Mexican worker who is just trying to make a way for their family, but an unholy marriage between corporate America and corporate government.
It has been sacra-religious to be critical of the Bush administration for such a two-faced policy, as they waved terrorism in the face of Americans every day. Factually, the immigration policy crosses several administrations.
"Terrorism" has had many victims - the illegal immigrants, American workers and our national security.
