Flames were coming from the structure, with other houses nearby. The fire is in an older neighborhood off the Charleston By-pass at the end of Market Street.

Firemen quickly responded to the scene, with access hampered by a very narrow street leading to the structure.

Temperatures had already dropped below 15 degrees.

POSTSCRIPT: The fire was was brought under control rather quickly, but firemen had to return to the scene early Thursday after it rekindled.
