CLAY GAS CUSTOMERS IN TIGHT SPOT - "Help Is On The Way"

If you are a Wagner, Beechy, or Valley Gas Co. customer in Clay County, you're likely having natural gas problems, affecting the heating of your homes or businesses. A bad time to have problems with temps dropping to zero. The WV PSC ordered the Habjan gas interests to provide a 12-hour a day number for customers. The telephone number to call for repairs is 587-2662. Residents without gas service and needing assistance are asked to dial 911. Clay County Commission President, Triplett says a Red Cross trailer stocked with cots and blankets is now parked in the county just in case people have to come to a shelter to stay warm. The Clay Communicator says local officials are out in the county responding to the needs of those without gas service. The Communicator reported generosity, saying "Before sunset, we saw a beagle carrying jumper cables trying to jump start a rabbit."
