SPRINGSTON SEEKING PLEA AGREEMENT - Keener Pleads Not Guilty

Greg Springston, 26, of Roane County, is scheduled to enter into a plea agreement with the court on February 15.

Springston is facing a charge of voluntary manslaughter, related to the death of a Spencer man who was killed in a collision in which Springston was a driver of the other vehicle.

The fatal accident happened at Letherbark, in February 2005. Thomas Waggoner, 23, the driver of an Olds 88, died at the scene shortly after the crash.

Springston is represented by attorney Kevin Postalwait.

An Orma, Calhoun County man has pled not guilty for allegedly sexually assaulting a 15-year-old minor near Orma. Jimmy W. Keener, 42, was arraigned yesterday in Calhoun Circuit Court.

Keener was charged with 2nd degree sexual assault, following a lengthy investigation. He is set for trial in July.

Christina Blake was discharged from probation after making restitution and paying costs, related to welfare fraud. She is represented by Rocky Holmes.

Travis Sampson pled guilty to a B & E charge, with sentencing scheduled for April. He is represented by Rocky Holmes.

Sara Beecher, who was to be arraigned on drug charges, will return to court later in February. She is represented by attorney Ernest Skaggs.

Dennis Sears, who was arrested on marijuana charges, pled guilty to conspiracy to manufacturing a controlled substance, a felony. He is represented by Jerome Novobilski.

Cecil Pomroy, who was arrested on marijuana charges, will enter a plea on February 15. He is represented by attorney Rocky Holmes.

Ernest Hall, who is charged with sexual offenses, is scheduled to return to court on February 15 for a plea. He is represented by attorney Kevin Postalwait.

Court continues today with an arraignment scheduled for Christina Vandal, appearing before Judge David Nibert. A hearing on a motion for reduction of sentence is scheduled for John Hickman, represented by Drew Patton.
