GRANTSVILLE POLICE ARREST MAN FOR GUN VIOLATION

Grantsville police arrested a Weston man Saturday for a violation related to a felon in possession of a firearm. Grantsville police chief J. D. Nicholson said Robert Ray Church, 63, was taken into custody on a Lewis County warrant issued by the West Virginia State Police. Church was taken to Central Regional Jail. Nicholson said a truck belonging to Church caught fire early Thursday morning at 102 Johnson St., Grantsville, where Nicholson said Church was reportedly staying. The Grantsville Volunteer Fire Department responded to the fire. Nicholson said additional charges are pending.
