CRI CUT-BACKS WILL AFFECT CALHOUN - Agency Getting Pay Raises?

(02/08/2007)
The Calhoun Commission heard a report this week regarding the proposed closing of Calhoun's Community Resources (CRI), the agencies board having voted to close most of their 11 regional offices.

Reports indicate four county facilities will be kept open.

The anti-poverty agency has been in the county for several years.

CRI has been facing funding problems for the past several years, but sources indicate the agencies director and central office staff have already been or will likely be given pay raises during the belt tightening.

CRIs director Melanie Pagilaro of Parkersburg declined to respond to three requests for public information regarding the pay raises or changes being proposed by the agency.

Pagilaro is reportedly angered that the announcement of the closures leaked to the public, although CRIs board voted on the measure.

The closures are reportedly slated for May.
