LADY PIONEERS LOOK FOR TWENTIETH WIN THURSDAY

Glenville's Lady Pioneers left Glenville Thursday afternoon for what was expected to be a five hour drive to the Shepherdstown area. Thursday morning a light practice is scheduled, and at 6 p.m. they'll face Shepherd University looking for their twentieth victory.

A 78-48 victory over Alderson-Broaddus Monday night brought their overall record to 19-2, 9-0 in conference play.

The latest USA Today-ESPN poll ranks the team sixth nationally among Division II schools. In the East Region, Division II standing the Lady Pioneers hold the top spot.

The Shepherd University women are coming off a Monday night victory over Bluefield State 67-52 on the road. Their record is 11-6 overall, 7-3 in WVIAC action.

In Monday's action against Alderson-Broaddus Rachel Redick led Lady Pioneer scorers with 21 points. Her current career point total of 2071 places her third among all time leading WVIAC scorers. Melanie Oliver and Lauren Strong added nine each. Mallory Menendez and Casey Taylor had eight point apiece.
