TWO MORE FILE FOR GRANTSVILLE COUNCIL

(01/27/2007)
Interest in the political life of Grantsville, a town of 500 citizens, continues to expand with two more names added to the ballot for town council.

The town office said yesterday that Geneva Groves and Helen Jordan have joined the race, making a total of seven for the five seats.

Today is the last day to register, with the town office open until 4:30 p.m.

Former mayor Gary Knight has filed for that position, running against incumbent Wilbert Kerby.

Former town recorder Jane Wease has filed for the position, with current recorder Roger Propst announcing he will not seek re-election.

Other council seekers are Stephanie Ferguson, Gaylen Duskey, Cheryl Cheesbrew, JoAnn Shock and Charlie Whipkey.

The election is in June for the two year positions.
