Harry D. Cooper, 83 - Norton Ohio

Harry D. Cooper, 83, of Norton OH, died Saturday, January 20, 2007. Harry was born at Nebo, West Virginia, the son of the late Lambert Myers Cooper and Rebecca Mollohan Cooper.

He was married for 58 years to the former Dorma Murphy of White Oak. His in-laws were Arthur and Flona Murphy.

A resident of the Barberton-Norton area for 54 years, he retired from PPG, and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II serving on the USS Nashville. He was a member of Coventry Lodge 83 F&AM and Home Missionary Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Brooks Cooper of Chloe, and Bazil Cooper; sisters, Jessie Thompson, Dottie Brannon, Gertie Hardway, Georgia Cooper, Sylvia Cooper and Margaret Shearer.

In addition to his wife, he is survived his son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Lori Cooper and one grandson, Jeremy Cooper; four sisters, Bina Hicks of Akron, Marlene Potasnik Tanner of Nebo, Elva Browning of Charleston and Elza Vaughan of St. Albans.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Akron General for their kindness and compassion.

Funeral service was January 23, 2007 at the Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home, 566 W. Park Ave., Barberton, 44203 with Rev. Jim Ellis officiating. Burial Greenlawn Memorial Park.
