Mava L. McCumbers, 61 - Spencer

Mava L. McCumbers, 61, of Spencer, West Virginia died Wednesday, January 17, 2007, in the Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston. She was born September 21, 1945, at Spencer, a daughter of the late William H. and Thelma L. Starcher Carpenter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Bud and Billy Carpenter. Mava was an employee of the former Kellwood Corp., Spencer. She was a member of the Spencer Tabernacle, Spencer. Survivors include her husband, Dare V. McCumbers; daughter, Shannon Dee Stockner of Spencer; brother, Larry Carpenter of Spencer; sister, Lavon Anderson of Belvidere, IL; two grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, January 20 at 3 p.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Loren Price officiating. Burial will be in the Gibson Cemetery, Arnoldsburg. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Friday, January 19.
