Eleanor R. Sturm Boyles, 92 - Belpre, Formerly of Calhoun

Eleanor R. Boyles, 92, of Belpre, Ohio passed away Jan. 13, 2007, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital following a short illness.

She was born Aug. 10, 1914, in Calhoun County, one of seven children of the late Mallie and Florence Elliott Sturm.

Eleanor and her late husband Dinsmore resided in Tuppers Plains for many years. She moved to Belpre around 1975. She enjoyed assisting elderly friends with their care and loved gospel music and went to many gospel sings. She was a member of the Alfred United Methodist Church and attended Calvary Community Church.

Eleanor is survived by her three children, Florence Ann Spencer and Richard of Tuppers Plains, Sandra Massar and Starling of Reedsville and Phillip N. ''Joe'' Boyles and Mary Lou of Parkersburg; six grandchildren, Tim and Dan Spencer, Brenda Buck, Joe Boyles, Diana Buckley and Charles Massar; step grandchildren, Stephen Lutz and the Rev. David Lutz; 13 great- grandchildren; five step great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; twin brother and sister, Bernard Sturm of Powells Point, N.C., and Bernice Hawkey of Grantsville; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband, Dinsmore Boyles, in 1975; two brothers, Otho Sturm and Holden Sturm; two sisters, Azeline Hersman and Margarite Morgan; and daughter-in-law, Sharon Ginther Boyles.

A service to remember and celebrate her life and faith will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Leavitt Funeral Home of Belpre, with the Rev. Ken Fullerton officiating. Burial will be at the Tupper Plains Christian Church Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. today.
