COUNTY OFFERS LEASE FOR GRANTSVILLE'S TOWN HALL

The Calhoun Commission has approved a renewable lease for part of the first floor of the county's annex-jail building to the Town of Grantsville to use as a town hall. Commission President Rick Sampson said "It is our intention to cooperate with the town in any way we can." The town has been using the building since the former town hall was declared unsafe. The agreement calls for an in-kind exchange without any monetary compensation. The county pays for the electric and gas and the town agrees to provide water, sewage and trash removal services. The agreement has been given to the town.
