HOLIDAYS ARE OVER - Grand Jury Convenes, Meetings Scheduled

(01/02/2007)
The world returns to "normal" today.

School resumes.

The Grand Jury is convening today in Grantsville with about six cases being presented for indictment.

The Calhoun Commission meets at 9 a.m. and the Grantsville Town Council meets at 7 p.m.

President George W. Bush has issued an Executive Order directing federal government agencies to close today as a mark of respect for former President Gerald Ford.

The West Virginia Association of Counties has advised that Gov. Joe Manchin said all state offices will be open today. He will be attending President Ford's funeral.

For the United States Postal Service, this means that Jan. 2 is a "National Day of Observance" and there will be no regular mail delivery or retail service.

Mail will be collected from the blue collection boxes.

While most local post offices will be closed, the Millstone Post Office will be open for regular business hours from 7:30 a.m. until noon.

Normal business schedules will resume on Wednesday, January 3rd, for all postal facilities.
