Evangeline "Jean" Stemple West, 92 - Sissonville

Evangeline "Jean" West, 92, of Sissonville, passed away Dec. 20, 2006, at CAMC Memorial Hospital. Jean was a retired schoolteacher with Kanawha County schools. She was also a member of Humphrey United Methodist Church. Jean was preceded in death by her loving husband, Davis Mayfield West. Survived by children and their spouses, Patricia and Lawrence Glidewell of Powhatan, Va., Blaine and Donna West of Beavercreek, Ohio, and Judith and George Montgomery of Aiken, S.C.; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 22, at Long and Fisher Funeral Home, Sissonville, with the Rev. James W. Holtsclaw and the Rev. Terri Dean officiating. Burial will follow at Stalnaker Cemetery, Glenville, where a committal will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
