A Spencer man died as the result of injuries from a single vehicle wreck east of Spencer Tuesday night.

Robert D. Anderson, 37, of Arnoldsburg Road lost control of a 1997 Ford F-150 pickup on U.S. 33/119 near the western entrance to Boggs Fork Road.

The accident occurred shortly before 9:30 p.m., according to a report by Trooper P.S. Fisher of the State Police detachment in Spencer.

Anderson, who apparently was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected after the truck crossed the centerline, left the roadway, struck an embankment and overturned.

He was transported by ambulance to Roane General Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

The accident remains under investigation.
