COUNTY VOID OF PROBLEMS OVER HOLIDAY SEASON

(12/26/2006)
The pre-holiday and holiday season has been mostly void of serious incidents, fires or accidents.

Even the county's only funeral home - Stumps - have had few funerals during December.

The long holiday weekend was barely interrupted with one reported accident on Rt. 5, west of Grantsville near Cabot Station.

A van and truck collided at 1:30 p.m. Christmas Day, sending one 9-year-old passenger to Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center for evaluation.

Besides the two drivers, there were seven passengers. Fortunately, none received serious injury.

Calhoun EMS and the Grantsville VFD responded. Sheriff Carl Ballengee investigated the accident.
