Saphrona E. Roush, 81 - Spencer

Saphrona E. Roush, 81, of Spencer, died Wednesday, December 20, 2006, in the Miletree Center, Spencer. She was born December 13, 1925, at Newton, a daughter of the late Michael James and Anna Jane Moore Drake. She was a retired nurse's aid at the former Spencer Hospital and the Guthrie Center. Also, she was a member of the Reamer Gospel Tabernacle, Clendenin. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Lester and Doris Smith of Marietta, OH; four daughters and sons-in-law, Kathleen and Lewis Wilson of Hurricane, Sallie and Jim Brown of Charleston, Norma and Larry Ferrell of Spencer, Judy and Neil Ferrell of Looneyville; two sisters, Maggie Drake of Newton and Gladys Chapman of Spencer; seven grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted Friday, December 22 at 2:00 p.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Leon B. Strickland officiating. Burial will be in the Keen Cemetery, Newton. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
