At least one woman was taken to Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center by Calhoun EMS for evaluation following a car and truck collision yesterday afternoon at 12:15 p.m.

The accident happened at the Arnoldsburg "Y," the junction of US 33-119 and State Rt. 16.

Reports indicated three other individuals were occupants of the vehicles.

Calhoun EMS dispatched two ambulances, accompanied by the Arnoldsburg Volunteer Fire Department.

Upper West Fork VFD answered a call to a brush fire at 4:08 p.m. to Grannyshe, after a controlled burn went out of control. Firemen quickly extinguished the blaze.

A driver said he jumped from his pick-up truck before it plunged over a steep hillside on Big Springs Hill last night at 7:36 p.m.

He was not injured.

The vehicle went down the hillside about 200 feet, miraculously not rolling over.

Calhoun EMS and the Grantsville VFD responded.
