Alma L. "Peggy" Manning, 87 - Formerly of Spencer

Alma L. "Peggy" Manning, 87, of Doylestown, PA, formerly of Spencer, died Thursday, November 23, 2006, in Center Square Towers.

She was born in Philadelphia, a daughter of the late Edward Lutz and the late Ruth Gilbert Kuhl. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph A. Manning, Sr.; grandson, Stephen J. Manning; step-father, George Kuhl; two sisters and one brother.

"Peggy" loved animals and was infamous for rescuing numerous strays over the years including feeding a wild possum on her porch. She was a gentle and kind woman, who was loved by all who knew her, especially her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Joseph A. and Judith Manning, Jr. of Westminster, MD; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Lou and Bart Smith of Doylestown, PA; five grandchildren, Marie, Michael, Colleen, Scott and Heather; three great grandsons, Stephen, James and Mark.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Tuesday, November 28 at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Doylestown, PA. A graveside service will be conducted Thursday, November 30 at 11:00 a.m. in the Eventide Cemetery, Spencer, with the Rev. David J. Schmitt officiating.

Friends may call at the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m., Thursday, November 30.
