A Letherbark, Calhoun County man was arrested by Roane County authorities this afternoon after his car went out of control on Arnoldsburg Road (US 33-119) about three miles west of Spencer.

Michael Joe Mace, 45, has been charged with DUI causing injury, failure to maintain control, failure to keep right, no insurance, obstructing an officer and battery on an officer.

Mace's van struck a pick-up truck and then crashed against a guardrail.

The Roane County Emergency Squad, the Sheriff's Department and Spencer-Roane VFD responded to the scene.

At least one person from the accident was taken to Roane General Hospital for evaluation.

Mace, who authorities say has mental health issues, was arrested by Calhoun authorities a few weeks ago after he allegedly was engaged in a conflict with his father at Letherbark.
