Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center, Inc. is pleased to announce they have received a grant from the Parkersburg Area Community Foundation. The award, in the amount of $10,000 is to be applied to the Coleman and Katheryn Burrows Memorial Fund.

The Parkersburg Area Community Foundation's mission is to build a permanent pool of funds for the broad charitable needs of our community, to manage these funds efficiently, and to use them effectively in responding to the area's changing needs and opportunities. The Foundation's charitable funds are generously given by caring citizens to improve our region's quality of life in a wide variety of ways.  They offer donors an easy, flexible, and efficient way to make a significant impact with their charitable gifts, along with the ease and tax advantages of partnering with a public charity.

With this grant, we are half-way to our goal. Combining grants and donor gifts, the Coleman and Katheryn Burrows Memorial Fund currently stands at $42,096.07. The Basket Bingo fundraiser was a huge success and we would like to thank all who donated or came out to play. I believe everyone had a great time!

Though we are halfway to our goal, we still have a long way to go. It is through the generous support of our community that we are going to see this dream become reality. All funds generated through the Coleman and Katheryn Burrows Memorial Fund will go toward the purchase of mammography equipment at MHHCC. If you would like to donate to the Memorial Fund, please contact Barb McKown at MHHCC, 186 Hospital Drive, Grantsville, WV 26147 or call 354-9244 extension 235.
