SPRINGSTON ARRESTED IN BRAXTON COUNTY - Voluntary Manslaughter Bond Will Be Revoked

(11/18/2006)
A Roane County man who has been indicted in Calhoun for voluntary manslaughter and DUI causing a death, was arrested Thursday in Braxton County for driving on a suspended license and possession of a controlled substance.

Greg Springston, 26, had been released from Central Regional Jail on bond and was on home confinement in Roane County.

It was unclear what Springston was doing in Braxton County when the arrest was made.

The initial charges are related to the death of Thomas Waggoner, 23, who was killed in a collision in February 2005 at Letherbark in which Springston was the driver of the other vehicle.

Springston is now back in CRJ.

Calhoun prosecutor Matt Minney said a motion has been made for revocation and forfeiture of Springston's bond.

A trial has been scheduled in Calhoun Circuit Court in February.
