OVERTURNED TANK BLOCKING RT. 16 AT JACKSON HILL - Road Could Be Blocked Into Saturday

5 PM UPDATE - The correction of the tank wreck at Jackson Curve is going slowly, and the wreckage might not be cleared until sometime Saturday. A transport truck hauling a very long metal container failed to negotiate the hair-pin turn on Jackson Hill this morning, overturning and blocking Rt. 16. The highway is closed. Hundreds of trucks and vehicles have already been re-routed. Jackson Hill is north of Grantsville, near Five Forks. Heavy equipment to remove the overturn was expected on scene by early afternoon. The highway could be blocked into the evening, and possibly not cleared until sometime Saturday.
