Executives from Mustang Survival in Elizabeth said yesterday they are planning to expand their operations, hoping to eventually double the workforce.

The company currently employees about 80 people, several from Calhoun County.

Gov. Joe Manchin toured the facility, meeting with executives, officials and company workers. Calhoun County commissioner Rick Sampson attended the event.

Canadian-based Mustang designs, manufactures and markets aerospace and marine safety and survival equipment, with many of the products created for military, security and rescue use.

State Sen. Donna Boley said it is great for the state that Mustang has located in Wirt County, is expanding there and hiring local people.
