CLAY WOMAN PLEADS GUILTY TO SMUGGLING DRUGS TO BOYFRIEND

(11/15/2006)
A Clay County woman has pled guilty to smuggling drugs into Central Regional Jail, a federal charge.

Jackie White said she was to trying to bring marijuana into the Central Regional Jail.

She plotted to smuggle the drugs to her boyfriend, Samuel Murphy, while he was incarcerated.

Murphy has been convicted of attempting to kill Clay Sheriff Randy Holcomb with a homemade bomb, because of Holcomb's intense drive against meth-makers in that county.

Officials recorded telephone conversations between the couple last February.

White will be sentenced in Federal Court in February.
