PARKS MAKING IMPROVEMENT FOLLOWING TRACTOR ACCIDENT

(11/15/2006)
Munday Road resident Bud Parks has been taken off the ventilator and is breathing on his own.

Parks was severely injured when his farm tractor rolled-over two weeks ago. He has been a patient in Charleston Area Medical Center.

Antibiotics are starting to fight a rare infection he has acquired, which physicians claim he contacted on his farm.

Family members say he still in not out of the woods, but he was trying to talk to his wife Monday night for the first time.

Family members want to thank everyone who have prayed for Parks.

"It's so close to the holidays and we hope to spend them with him. His grandchildren love him very much. We are a very close family and mom has never left the hospital since the accident. She needs everyone's prayers to give her strength through all that she faces in the next months," said his daughter.
